Executive Director

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and
operational responsibility for TAN’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. S/he will initially develop deep knowledge of field, core programs, operations, and business plans.

Mission:

In this age of international health crisis, Triangle Area Network, Inc. (hereafter known as TAN)
believes that every person should be called to awareness, compassion and involvement. The goals of TAN are to allow everyone in Southeast Texas to be, to do his or her own share, and serve in the best way possible, the needs of those who are uninsured, underinsured and indigent. TAN will seek to educate the public, provide direct services, and will cooperate with other groups with similar goals.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

• Ensure ongoing local excellence in programs, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communication, and system: recommended timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals
• Actively engage and energize TA N’s volunteers, board members, event committees and partnering organizations
• Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors: serve as ex-officio of each committee, seek and build board involvement with strategic direction for ongoing local operations
• Lead, coach, develop, and retain TAN’s management team
• Ensure effective systems to effectively evaluate and measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the boardv

Fundraising & Communications

• Agency is funded by grants and donations, director will work to find and develop grants and funding
• Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support exis ting program operations while simultaneously reducing debt
• Deepen and refine all aspects of communications-from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand

• Use community presence and relationships to gamer new opportunities

Planning & New Business:

• Design a strategic business planning process for the program expansion.
• Begin to build partnerships in new markets, establishing relationships with the community

Qualifications

The Executive Director will be thoroughly committed to T AN’s mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience. Concrete experience and other qualifications include:

• Advance degree, ideally an MBA, with at least 10 years of senior management experience; track record of effectively leading and regionally and/or nationally scaling a performance- and outcomes­based organization and staff; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth

• Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation

• Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high­performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget

• Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationshjps

• Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range cultures.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills

• Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning

• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

• Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
